WORLD CLASS ENTERTAINMENT ON NOVA SCOTIA’S SOUTH SHORE
Just 15 minutes from Lunenburg, 75 minutes from Halifax, and located in the seaside village of Riverport, Old Confidence Lodge reopened in 2024, newly-renovated in its original Art Deco style. We are open 3+ days a week for concerts, dances, theatrical performances, movies, and many more events!

Additionally, the Lodge is Lunenburg County’s destination for arts education, offering music lessons, theatre programs, parent & tot classes, summer camps, and much more!
Built in 1929, the Lodge has enjoyed a varied past of Odd Fellows' secret meetings, community dinners, and wild parties. In the 2000s the space was converted into a recording studio and concert space, bringing in some of Canada’s top artists.
In 2022, husband and wife team Chris Jackman and Shari Porter bought the Lodge, moved from Toronto, and started the process of creating this cultural hub!

We’re at a critical moment here at Old Confidence Lodge, and we need YOUR help to keep the arts alive and thriving in our community.
Since reopening in summer 2024, we’ve hosted weekly live music shows, comedians, youth productions, two theatrical productions, and we’ve got big plans for the future with even more exciting events on the horizon!
But, here’s the reality: despite the Lodge being in near-continuous use for 100 years, zoning changes required us to bring the building into compliance with modern building codes before reopening the doors. This led to unexpected and substantial renovations, including the addition of several new washrooms, enhanced fireproofing, and accessibility improvements. We welcome these improvements, but we must immediately reduce our debt to build a solid financial foundation for the future.

The Old Confidence Lodge is a family- and queer-run business.
In the coming years, we will make it our mission to elevate queer stories and performances. We promise that fear and hate will never reach this building. We commit to being a safe space for all ages, all gender identities and expressions, all sexual orientations, all ethnicities.
